Meet our Partners: CTT Innovations (CTTI)

A research project is only as strong as its ability to work outside the laboratory. While our scientific teams focus on chemistry and engineering, our partner CTT Innovations (CTTI) is responsible for looking at the “big picture”.

Based in Poland, CTTI specialises in sustainability and life-cycle assessments. Their role is to ensure that the CILANTRO solution is not just scientifically sound, but also economically and environmentally viable for the global construction industry.

The Role: Measuring Real-World Impact

CTTI leads the sustainability assessment for the entire project. They are the team responsible for gathering data from every stage of our process and turning it into a clear, consistent measure of impact. Their work includes:

  • Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA): Building a full inventory of every input and output to measure the exact environmental footprint of our process.

  • Economic Analysis: Measuring the financial costs and benefits to ensure the technology is market-ready.

  • Logistics & Scaling: Testing real-world scenarios, such as hydrogen supply chains, logistics, and social acceptance.

By looking at these factors now, CTTI ensures that CILANTRO creates a roadmap for the industry that stands up to scrutiny once the research leaves the lab.

The Team Behind the Science

The sustainability assessment is led by experts in environmental economics and system analysis:

  • Magdalena Jaskiewicz: Economy Expert and Environmental Specialist.

  • Emil Lezak: Sustainability Assessment Expert.

Note: Emil was recently elected to lead the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Working Group for the entire EIC ‘Cement and Concrete as a Carbon Sink’ portfolio, highlighting the high level of expertise CTTI brings to our consortium. Find our more here.

Evidence Over Claims

The core mission for CTTI within CILANTRO is simple: to replace climate claims with hard evidence. They aim to provide the industry with a route to scaling this technology that is grounded in data, ensuring the environmental benefits are verified and the economic numbers are realistic.

“What excites us about CILANTRO is that it aims to remove the root cause of cement emissions, rather than just managing them after the fact. Our job is to prove, with hard numbers and real-world scenarios, how this non-thermal route performs when you factor in supply chains and long-term logistics.” — The CTTI Team
