Eliminating CO₂ at the Source

The cement industry’s CO₂ problem stems from a 200-year-old process that requires extreme heat. CILANTRO solves this by adopting a fundamentally new approach.

Replacing Heat with Mechanics

We substitute the traditional high-temperature, fuel-intensive kilns with a groundbreaking non-thermal technology. This process uses simple mechanical grinding under controlled gas atmosphere instead of heat to create cement’s key components.

Hydrogen as a Feedstock

Our innovation employs clean hydrogen as a key feedstock for zero-emission cement manufacturing. This contrasts from the more conventional use of hydrogen as a “green” fuel. This new approach not only avoids process CO₂ generation and emissions but also helps expand the hydrogen market by creating a new, reliable source of demand.

The Circular Benefit

The process is designed to be fully circular. It not only cuts out CO₂ generation and emissions but also co-produces valuable gases, like carbon monoxide and methane among others, which can be used as energy vectors or precursors for chemical industry.
